YOU WILL LAUGH LAST by Pastor E. A. Adeboye (Transcribed Text of the Message of January 2014 Holy Ghost Service)

Pastor Adeboye convention2013Friday. 3rd January 2014

Why don’t you go ahead and lift your hand to the Almighty God and bless His holy name, for a brand new beginning, thank Him for life, thank Him that you are still here.

Thank Him that for all the efforts of the enemies over you last year, you are still here.

Give Him glory, give Him honour, give Him adoration, praise the King of kings, praise the Lord of lords. Worship Him, magnify Him; but for Him you won’t be here now; oh yes the enemy has failed.

Give Him glory, give Him honour, give Him adoration, bless Him.

Thank Him for His love, thank Him for His goodness, thank Him for His mercy, bless His holy name.

Thank Him for all He did last year; thank Him for the ups and downs; for the mountains and the valleys, thank Him for health, thank Him for strength, thank Him for provision.

Thank Him for food, thank Him for the air you breathe, thank Him for accommodation, thank Him for the clothe you wear, thank Him for protection, thank Him for securities, thank Him for journey mercies, thank Him for sleeping and waking up, thank Him for answered prayers. Read more

More than you can ask or think by Pastor E.A. Adeboye (Message at the RCCG Holy Ghost Congress 2013 (Day 4)

Key Text: Ephesians 3:20-21

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

What you get when you’re in need of help is determined by 2 persons. (1) The person you go to for help (2) Yourself. For example, the fellow you go to ask for help can determine how much help you get either by what he has or how generous he wants to be. 1kings 17:8-16. The help you get also depends on you. By this, I mean how much you are asking for, how desperate you are and how intensely you are asking.

When asking God for help, we should consider how much God has and how generous God is.

How much has God? The bible says Haggai 2:8 that all the silver and gold belongs to Him. God has more than enough to give you only if you would ask! Even if God doesn’t have what you are asking for, He has the power to create it just so you get it. Read more

Open Heavens Devotional: YOU CAN CREATE – Sunday, January 22, 2012

By Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Memorise: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:1

Read: Genesis 1:1-3

A new beginning is the time to create or initiate new things. The beginning is not a time to loaf about or procrastinate but the time for hard work. God and the Word are seen creating things in the beginning.

All the things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John1:3

If you have no job, this is not the time to wake up by 12 noon. Get up and look for something legitimate to do. The Lord will make a way for you. Speak to your hands and say: ‘These hands shall not be empty. You shall prosper in a good work that will fetch me income’. Afterwards, prayerfully launch out. There are several opportunities around you. Some people are just too choosy. They look down on certain offers because of the small emolument or because the job is not prestigious enough. Stop it! God wants you to engage your hands. Start something before the end of this month. You may have a talent, an education or gift you can turn into an income-yielding business. Go ahead as long as the business is legitimate.

One revelation from this is that who stick with the Word of God and frolic regularly with Him are connected to the Creator and as such, they can tap into God’s creative power and begin to create things, following the steps of God and the Word.

……But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16b

The truth is, you cannot be so close to God’s Word and be so far from ideas. Sin is a robber of ideas. If you can keep away from sin and give quality time to studying the Bible, ideas will flow from Him to you. If you claim to spend time with Jesus, what have you to show for it? What ideas have you divinely received and introduced to improve your business, industry, church, or even the world? Stop hoarding ideas that will change your world! Circulate them so that God’s name will be glorified.

Father, as I spend time with Your Word from today, release creative ideas into my mind to enable me make a difference in my world.

Open Heavens Devotional: IS GOD WITH YOU? Thursday, January 19, 2012

By Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Memorise: And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. Genesis 39:2

Read: Acts 10:38-40

Today, some believers are sick because they went into fornication. Since nobody except God and their sin partner were aware, they secretly continued in the sin. Before long, they exchanged divine health for ill-health. When you take the forbidden fruit of sin you become a piece of bread before your enemies. If you are in this situation run to Jesus today and ask for mercy, restoration of your spiritual life and of what the enemy has stolen from your body! Fornication devours everyone who indulges in it, but if you are keeping yourself pure as Joseph did then the Lord will be with you. We observe from the story of Joseph in Genesis 39:1-9 that, prosperity and God’s presence are interrelated. Joseph prospered because God was with him. Show me a man with whom God is with and I will show you a prosperous fellow. Jesus made a success of His life and ministry because God was with Him (Acts 10:38). If you look through the Bible, you will discover that the reason the saints and patriarchs of old succeeded was because God was with them. Is God with you?

At salvation, God comes inside you. But is God with you? God being with you (Emmanuel) speaks of a partnership existing between you and God. It means you and God are jointly doing whatever He assigns you to do. John 5:17 says:

But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

In other words, they were not working apart but towards the same direction and goal. Can you say you and God are in full agreement in whatsoever you do?

Father, as You were with Joseph and made all he did to prosper, Be with me and turn everything I touch into gold.

Open Heavens Devotional: YOU CAN STAND OUT – Monday, January 2, 2012

By Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Memorise: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. James 1:14

Read: Romans 8:35-39

In His letter to the church in Sardis, after stating their terrible state, the Lord stated that there were a few of them who were undefiled who would walk with Him.

Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. Revelation 3:4.

As horrible as Sardis was, there were a few people who held on to their faith in Christ. One revelation you need to hold unto from this is that: your faith in Christ can triumph even in the most sinful era ever possible to man. No matter the temptations or levels of corruption around you; no matter the pressure you are faced with; if you hold on to your faith in Christ, you will be a victor. This also shows that when many fall in the midst of trials, temptations and pressures, it is not because the grace of God has grown weaker or that God has become powerless or unfaithful to His promises, but because the one in the middle of it all chooses to give in to sin. You are the only one that can separate yourself from His love, not the contrary forces.

This was also the submission of Paul in today’s reading. He says he is persuaded that nothing can separate us from Christ. What is separating you from His love today? Is that excuse acceptable by God? If your excuse for wanting to join your peers, co-workers,co- students, or other people in your community to violate God’s Word is in Paul’s list, then you have no excuse. Today, it is common place for pastors to sleep with church members and pretend as if all is well. Even if all pastors fall victim of this practice, you should not be one of them. Like a prominent man of God wrote: “Others may but I cannot”. You can be different. You can stand out for good. You can be among the faithful few in your family, neighbourhood, community or nation. Don’t give up your faith even for a second! Stay in Christ!

The excuse you give for failing God is the exhibit Satan needs to nail you.

Open Heavens Devotional: CHRIST FOR YOU – Thursday, December 29, 2011

By Pastor E.A. Adeboye

MEMORIZE: “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).

READ: Romans 8:31-33

There are different relational possibilities you can have by considering these phenomena: ‘Christ for you’ and ‘Christ with you’. Christ for you signifies divine approval or support. This has a tremendous implication because Romans 8:31 says, “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us who can be against us?” When Christ is for you, no curse placed on you will work. When Balak tried to make prophet Balaam to curse the children of Israel, he met with a brick wall. In Numbers 23:8, Balaam confessed that it was impossible to curse the one God has blessed. If a Christian is affected by a curse, it is doubtful whether he or she has God’s support. If God is for you, there is no need to spend sleepless nights over enemies. Whenever I am faced with opposition, I turn to God to ask if I have His backing for what I am doing. As soon as He assures me that He is for me, I joyfully continue whatever I am doing. If God is for you, the whole world may be against you, yet you have nothing to worry about.

James 4:8 says to get God’s support; you must learn to draw closer to God. If your service to God is just lip service, you may never have His support. You must engage your heart in God’s service. In addition, when offering your services to God, do not think or say that you are serving a particular Church, or the General overseer of the Church. No Church or GO. can adequately compensate you. Also, do not claim to be serving God because He needs you, because He has billions of people who would serve Him if you do not. You are only serving God for your own sake. How are you serving God today? You will easily know those who have misconstrued their purpose of service. If you are easily discouraged by men, location, lack of provision and challenges in the face of an assignment, it shows you do not yet know why you are serving. If you truly understand that serving God is only an opportunity to help you access God’s blessings on earth, and live with Him eternally, there is nothing anyone will do that will stop you. It was with this understanding that Paul asked: ‘What shall separate us from God’s love?’ Nothing except you.

Father, because you are for me, reverse every curse placed against me and my family.

Open Heavens Devotional: WHO CALLED YOU? – Saturday, December 17, 2011

By Pastor E.A. Adeboye

MEMORIZE: “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:44).

READ: John 6:43-46

God calls His children to separation, consecration and distinction. When God calls a person, he turns everything in the person’s life around for good. Hence, Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”. God’s call will eventually end you in goodness and not anywhere else, unless it was not God who called you. This does not, however, exempt you from unpleasant events and experiences such as hard times, delays, trials of faith or certain challenges, as they have their place in God’s overall plan. For instance, Israel as a nation is a tough skinned diehard nation today because of the several wars and difficulties that it has gone through. If you are constantly facing battles, a time will come when, after adapting to that situation, you will learn to make progress and do several healthy things in the midst of wars. In other words, war will no longer be a hindrance to you, but will now facilitate stable and lasting progressive strides. If you are truly called by God, all the unpleasant events that God allows to come your way will eventually contribute something good to your life and destiny.

“And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him” (Mark 3:13). Another fact about God’s call is that He calls sovereignly. God is a sovereign God. He does what He likes without receiving a query from any one (Ps. 115:3). He decides on whom to call. He also decides on those to be left behind. While the Lord was selecting among His disciples, some who were not chosen must have had a question in their hearts: ‘What about me?’ In John 6:44, this same truth is emphasized when Jesus said, “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day”. This tells us clearly therefore that God’s call is not by volunteering. You are not the one to offer your service to God. It is God who will decide to pick you or not. You will be amazed to know that quite a number of ministers in the church of God virtually called themselves. They offered to work for God. Be mindful, however, that when you volunteer like that, God reserves the right to accept or reject your offer. Were you called of God or did you, in your zeal, call yourself into full time ministry?

For a call to be worth its salt, God must be the Caller. Examine your ministry and your call.
