The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, on Thursday disowned text messages advising people not to wear red, blue, pink or purple.
In a Facebook post, Adeboye urged people to disregard the messages as they did not emanate from either him or the church.
A hoax message had circulated widely, claiming that Adeboye warned Nigerians against putting on any attire in these colours on Thursday.
But, the denial said the cleric never said any such thing.
It reads, “Please inform all your friends and family members that I, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, did not send any message out informing you not to wear a particular colour and do not have any issues with whatever colour. “No message stating you should not wear a particular color was ever authorized by The Redemption Camp or my office. Please be mindful and careful of erroneous messages.
“If you want a true change in your life be at The Redemption Camp, This Thursday at7 pm, Friday at 7 pm and Saturday at 7 pm. To ensure no one uses your blood for anything.”
The church began a weeklong programme marking its 60th anniversary on Monday.

Redeemed Christian Church of God,
Kilometre 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway,
As you attain the highly symbolic landmark age of three-score-and-ten on Friday, March 2nd 2012, it is with profound joy that I write on behalf of my family, the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and on my own behalf, to express very warm felicitations to you.
You have lived a truly inspirational and inspiring life of dedicated service in the vineyard of the Lord. Rising above the limitations of a background of deprivation to thrive in academics before going into full time ministry, the phenomenal growth of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, of which you are the General Overseer, clearly testifies to God’s hand upon your life and your productive leadership qualities.
In these critical times in Nigeria’s developmental history, we need, more than ever before, to seek the face of the Lord. Your readiness at all times to offer spiritual and prayerful support to the nation’s leadership at all levels deserves special commendation.
As your celebrate this historic day with your nuclear family, your numerous children-in the-Lord, friends and well-wishers, I would like to paraphrase Apostle Paul in his second letter to Timothy by praying that Almighty God continues to empower you to successfully fight the good fight, fruitfully run the course, and continue to keep the faith, until that day when you shall receive the crown of righteousness laid up for you.

As the battle line is drawn between the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and other pressure groups and the Federal Government of Nigeria over the recent fuel subsidy removal, the Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Pastor Sam Adeyemi has asked the Federal Government of Nigeria to put the needed infrastructures in place before removal of the subsidy.
Pastor Sam gave this admonition yesterday (8th January 2011) during the church service adding that the level of dishonesty and corruption in our nation particularly among the elite and government officials has plunged us into this mess.
“If they were honest, may be subsidy would not cost more than N200-N300billion annually. They should attack the corruption in the oil sector from the licensing of importers by PPPRA to the recording of the figures for imported fuel. There are dishonest people in government, ministries and agencies who inflate contract figures ten times and approve non-existent projects for payment. They will consume the money saved from subsidy”. He said the price of fuel per little should be reversed back to N65.
Adeyemi urged the President Goodluck Jonathan to wage war against the corruption in the oil sector and other sectors. He said massive construction of at least two new refineries’ should begin immediately. His words: “The war on corruption in the oil sector should begin immediately. Construction of one large or two medium – sized refineries that will be ready in two years should begin immediately. The president should ensure that those who falsify figures through importation process are named, shamed and prosecuted. Inefficiency should be stamped out of existing refineries immediately so they can produce more fuel. Phased withdrawal of subsidy should begin when new refineries come into operation in about two years. Private refineries will spring up when we achieve full deregulation.
He stressed that, “as to the claim that PMS is used only by the middle class, it shows the disconnect between the elite in government and the common man. The “I-better-pass-my-neighbor” and small power generating sets used in millions of homes and small businesses use petrol. So do most of the taxis and buses that ferry the masses. Increase in fuel price by over 100% has had a direct and instant impact on the lives of most Nigerians”.
Pastor Adeyemi however urged the citizens not to play into the script written by the devil. ‘We need to pray for our country more than ever before. Someone might wonder ‘pray? No. This is the time to protest. This is an acceptable point of view because as citizens we have the right to speak-out. However, I see two scripts playing out in our country presently; one written by God and the other written by satan. And people are acting out the scripts; especially satan’s script without knowing, that is why we need to pray and be very sensitive at this point in time just to be sure we are acting out God’s script because that will be the best for the country”.
He asked Nigerians to pray for God to unravel those behind the Boko Haram attacks.

MEMORIZE: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Gal 3:28)
READ: Galatians 3:26-29
Apart from using the challenged, children and the aged, God does not follow any particular order in choosing who to use in families. He may choose to either use the firstborn or the last born. Samuel was the firstborn of Hannah. Our Lord Jesus Christ was the firstborn of the family of Joseph. Both were mightily used of God. One way to secure the future of your firstborn is to ensure he or she knows Christ and is actively engaged in serving Him. God has special interest in firstborns: so also has satan. Any firstborn that is not engaged in glorifying God will definitely be occupied by the devil. Are you a firstborn? Are you serving the Lord with all your heart? Read more
