Emirates wins Best Airline worldwide at the 2017 Business Traveller Awards

Emirates were recognised yesterday with four accolades at the ?Business Traveller Middle East 2017 Awards.

At a ceremony attended by key travel industry executives, Emirates was crowned “Best Airline Worldwide”. It was also named “Airline with the Best First Class”, “Airline with the Best First Class Lounge” and “Best Frequent Flyer Programme”.

    Press release: Federal government launches You WIN! Business plan competition for young entrepreneurs

    ……Targets 50, 000 youth

    The Nigerian government has officially launched the You WIN! Project, a youth empowerment and entrepreneurship project anchored by the Federal Ministry of Finance in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Communication and Technology, the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, private sector companies and the World Bank. The project was launched by Nigeria’s president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan at an event with over 2000 youth in the nation’s capital Abuja on Tuesday, 11 October, 2011.

    You WIN! – Youth Enterprise with Innovation – is an annual Business Plan Competition (BPC) for aspiring young entrepreneurs in Nigeria, in line with the Federal Government’s drive to create more jobs for Nigerians. Competition is targeted at Nigerian youth with a well-developed new business concept, or innovation/expansion plan for an existing (informal) enterprise.


    The Lagos Business School has been selected to conduct the first round of screenings for the business plan submissions as well as coordinate trainings and mentorships. A six-member panel of judges, comprising reputable business leaders and experts drawn from the private sector, has been appointed in each geographical to validate and audit the screening process by the business school at each stage of the competition.     Now in its 6th year, The Future Awards, described as Nigeria’s biggest youth event, is the flagship platform under The Future Project, which is an umbrella of youth development projects/programmes that seeks to empower young people and re-direct them towards adding value to themselves and society with strong, positive images/messages.

    The 6th season of The Future Awards was launched on the 30th of September, 2010. Twenty categories will be recognized in the awards this season.

    These categories are  Best Use of Advocacy, Actor of the Year, Best Use of Technology, Best use of Science, Business Owner of the Year, Comedian of the Year, Best Use of Science, Creative Artist of the Year, Journalist of the Year, Magazine of the Year, Musician of the Year, Music Producer of the Year, On-air Personality of the Year (Radio), On-air Personality of the Year (TV), Professional of the Year (Corporate), Professional of the Year (Creative), Screen Producer of the Year, Sportsperson of the Year, Team of the Year, the biggest for Young Person of the Year and for Excellence in Public Service.Nominees must be Nigerian citizens and must be aged 18 – 31.
