RCCG Youth Convention 2012: MINDSET OF KINGDOM MILLIONAIRES by Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo

The summary of Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo’s message at the ongoing RCCG Youth Convention 2012» “The Unstoppable Generation”

Money is like a current, it is either flowing to you or flowing away from you that is why it is called Currency. So you need to learn how to magnatise money.

Most people are poor because of lack of knowledge and examples/training they received from parents and authourity figures.  If you grew up in an environment that says “money is meant to be spent”, you’ll never have savings”

Psalm 66:12Every year loads of people are joining the millionaires club! God wants to raise you as a person who can make a difference in your world.

It is not true that there is money scarcity in the world, rather every year millions of people cross the millionaires threshold.

Don’t listen to the what ‘ifs’ and words of distractions around you. You work towards getting blessed first and watch God teach you how to handle it.

There are people who lack the right knowledge to make wealth, some Christians will cry and pray for financial breakthroughs but their financial levels never change because they haven’t obeyed the laws of wealth making.  There are certain laws you must follow to make wealth, if you don’t obey them you can’t be a millionaire!

The law of gravity doesn’t respect anointing!

2 Timothy 1:7 To be a millionaire you have to overcome the spirit of fear! Things may not always go right at first but don’t let that stop you, God hasn’t given you the spirit of fear!

The secret of success is that there are no secrets! If you do what others have done you will get the results other millionaires have gotten. God is no respecter of person, colour, gender or age. If you believe Him, He’ll do greater things in your life.

Unsaved people become financially successful because they know the proper steps to follow.  There is a time for fasting and prayers but there are certain principles you must follow! The richest man in Nigeria, Aliko Dangote is not a Christian even the young man who owns facebook is worth over 20million dollars and he isn’t born again! You have a kingdom mindset, the spirit of God dwells in you so too you can make it!

1) Have a great dream/purpose/ vision.

-Write down your dream/vision for the next 1yr, 5yrs, 10yrs- See yourself in the place of wholeness, happiness and wealth (Prov 23:7)- Ask yourself precisely  ‘where do I want to be in 5yrs?’.  Bible says God will grant the desires of our heart, if you don’t have a desire, what do you expect God to work with?

2) Do what you are passionate about!

Prosperity doesn’t come just because you went to uni or have a good job!  Find out what you are passionate about, pursue it and it will take you places

-Turn your passion into a source of income

– Don’t start with a NGO if you have not worked for a couple of years. Broke cannot help broke and it is difficult for a struggling person to help struggling people.

– Too many Christian youths are jobseekers! JOB stands for “Just Over Broke”. You can never become a billionaire through a job. No bank CEO through their official basic salary makes 1million dollars.

3) Find and develop your unique gift!

Matt25:15 God has blessed everyone of us with gifts, you’re gifted!

 – Package your skills and talents well!  All Oprah Winfrey does is talk! Women like to talk but she packaged her talk very well and she’s making big money.

4). See yourself as self employed whether you have a job or not!

-Those who end up millionaires don’t work the contracted “8am-4pm” “9am-5pm” hours at their place of work, they go an extra mile and work over time when needed.

– There must be results in the hours you’re being paid for!  See the organisation you work for as yours, give it your very best and when you get your own company you’ll be disciplined enough to manage it effectively and efficiently!

5) Be committed to excellence!

-To excel means to surpass, to be ahead, to be at the top, to be NO 1.  When you are on top of your game, people will notice and respect you.        Proverbs 22:29, Proverbs 18: 16

– All successful people are good at what they do! Before you put something out there, make sure it is excellently done!

6) Develop a clear sense of direction

-Where are you going? How would you know when you get there? What are the milestones?

-Even in your relationship, when it comes to picking who to marry, make sure you pick someone with a clear vision as you! If God wants to prosper you and you are with the wrong person it might not work out, it takes only one Jonah to sink a ship!

– No goal, No go! You can’t go forward without goals, set goals for direction.

– Make a plan and write it down (Habakkuk 2:2).  If you know it and it’s written down, it’s easier to remain focussed when challenges and distractions come.

7) Have a money mission!
What do you intend to do with the money when God eventually blesses you?

Bible says in Proverbs 1:32 that the prosperity of fools end up destroying them.

4 Money Missions To Follow As A Christian

 – Be a Kingdom promoter (Matthew 6:23)

– Be a blessing to your family

– Be a blessing to the household of faith (Gal 6:10)

– Be a blessing to those who are needy (James 1:29).

– 3 Things you need to combine as a believer.

1) The skill in which you’re trained

2) You natural abilities and inborn traits

3) The anointing of God.

You can be wealthy if make good use of gifts, develop it and depend totally on God!

Open Heavens Devotional: LUKEWARMNESS – Friday, September 21, 2012

By Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Memorise: He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth. Luke 11:23

Read: Matthew 12:29-31

One major problem of the church in Laodicea was their lukewarmness.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. Revelation 3:15

On the thermometer of God, He expects you to read cold or hot but not in-between. Usually, people do not like lukewarm water. If you are given lukewarm water to quench your thirst, your stomach might get filled up but your thirst will not be quenched, this is annoying. Whereas, if you took a few glasses of cold water, the thirst will be quenched even if your stomach is not filled. Lukewarmness brings about a lot of waste. If you are lukewarm in your attitude to God and the things of His kingdom, you will be a great waste to God’s kingdom. You may not be able to quench the thirst of the King of kings! Lukewarm water is not capable of brewing some herbal teas that require hot water. After soaking such tea in lukewarm water, very little will be received of what the tea has the potential of releasing. The tea will at best be termed coloured water. Any lover of tea will not be pleased with such tea. In the same way, when you are lukewarm, God may never be able to get you to tap into your hidden resources and develop them to His glory. At the end, the lukewarm worker will earn God’s rebuke and anger.

Every lukewarm person has elements of laziness. In the Kingdom of God, there is no middle place: it is either you are for Him or you are against Him. You cannot afford to be neutral. If you are not walking the narrow path to Heaven, you are on the broad way to hell. You will recognise the fellow who is lukewarm by his or her lack of zeal. Anybody that will achieve for God must be zealous. Jesus was consumed by zeal for kingdom assignments. Do you show zeal when it comes to paying tithes, giving offering, winning souls or obeying God in general? A zealous person is in a hurry to please God. Zeal brings speed. Zeal comes with positive expectations. Zeal has genuine interest in what is being done. Lukewarm Christians do not care about the time they come to church hence many of them are incurable latecomers. Lukewarm Christians cannot spend eternity with Christ.

If you can sit, eat, or chat with an unbeliever and not be bothered that he or she is going to hell, you are lukewarm.

Open Heavens Devotional: LOVE – Thursday, August 2, 2012

By Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Memorise: Let brotherly love continue. Hebrews 13:1

Read: 2 Samuel 1:25-26

Your reason for seeking God will determine whether you love Him or lust after His works. Ask any Christian in God’s service, “Why are you committed to God’s work?” The reply most likely will be, “Because of Heaven, crowns and other rewards I will receive”. Although reward has its place in service, this only goes to show us that many of us are in God’s service because of what we can get from it, not because we love God. If you fall under this category, you should reorder your priorities and make your love for God the reason for all Kingdom exploits. There is a brother whose testimony stands out in this area. It was said of him that when he died, he was taken to Heaven. He was given a befitting welcome in Heaven. Afterwards, they took him to his mansion and rewards but he told the angels that he was not there for the crown and mansion, but that he just wanted to see the Lord. What love! May you love the Lord to the point that everything else- be it on earth and in Heaven will be secondary.

The word “love” is used casually at most times and this ought not to be so. It is pretty difficult to define love because love is a person. It is declared in 1 John 4:8 that God is love. To accurately define love, you must be able to define God correctly. After several years of walking with God, Paul said: “I still don’t know Him. I want to know Him” (Philippians 3:10). The word “love” is applied to different things and there are different kinds of love. For instance, Isaac asked for the food his soul loves in Genesis 27:1-4. Different people love different things; some may love vegetable soup while another may love sleep, play, dance, etc. Some love are detrimental; example of this is the love of sleep which leads to poverty (Proverbs 20:13). There is a kind of love that patriotic citizens have for their country hence Psalms 122:6 says if you love Jerusalem, you will prosper. Another kind of love exists between a man and his wife, this can be seen in Genesis 29:18 where Jacob is said to love Rachel. Looking at the relationship between David and Jonathan, we are introduced to brotherly love which 2 Samuel 1:26 says is stronger than erotic love. Hebrews13:1 says we should continue in brotherly love. Is the love you show to your fellow brethren as strong as the one you show to your spouse? Ask God for grace to love members of God’s Kingdom with brotherly love. How do you love today?

Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Open Heavens Devotional: GOD CALLS UP – Saturday, December 3, 2011

By Pastor E.A. Adeboye

MEMORIZE: “And he goeth up into a mountain and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him” (Mark 3:13).

READ: Mark 3:13-15

There are all kinds of calls in the world today. In God’s Kingdom, a call is actually an unquantifiable offer, the beginning of which you will know but may never tell where it will take you precisely. However, we need to know the nature of God’s call. The first is that God’s call is a call to uplifting. Since He is up, when He calls you, it is upwards. According to 1 Samuel 2:8, God can call you from nothing to something. He can call a beggar from scavenging in the dunghill to feasting with kings. Similarly, he can call ordinary fisherman to keep company with the King of kings (Mark 1:16-18). Whatever happens, God’s call moves you up.

Sometime ago, one of my pastors told me that God called him into full time service. Then, he was gainfully employed in an oil company where he was paid in dollars. What he earned in a month exceeded what an Assistant General Overseer would earn in a year. He had difficulty responding to the call. So, I simply told him God was calling him from sugar to honey. Recently, he told me, “what you told me then, I found it difficult to understand, but now I know”. Has God called you? Fear not! Accept God’s call because it is a call that will uplift you.

God also calls unto separation. If He calls you, He expects you to separate from others in order to fulfil the call. The disciples He called up the hill in today’s reading never returned to what they used to be. Their call moved them from being disciples to apostles. Figuratively, they remained on the mountain top. When Abraham got God’s call, he was asked to separate himself from his country, kindred and his father’s house (Gen. 12:13). In 1 Kings 19:19-21, after Elisha’s call, he killed his farm animals and burnt the tools. When God calls you, you may be required to do away with certain legitimate things and activities in order to make good your calling. If God has called you, you can no longer do what everybody else does. For instance, a church member may be embroiled in fisticuffs but certainly not a minister of God. In what ways are you keeping to the terms of reference of your calling?

God’s call is a higher call. Thank God for previous Holy Ghost Congresses. Ask for divine protection for all attendees during this year’s Congress.
