New Glory Devotional: THIS IS TRUE LOVE – Friday February 14, 2014

By Pastor Ayodeji Agbelusi »

Memorise: Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

Read: John 15:12-14

Jesus agreed to pay the price for our salvation and the remission of the sins of the whole world. He didn’t just take that upon himself but did all that because he was in love.  This kind of love is so “unexplainable”. How can one understand that a sinless soul chose to die for the sinful and disobedient? He’s the best love we can ever receive and if that is appreciated and well understood, we shall no longer need to worry about being disappointed when we cast our cares on the world and the men therein. Jesus, in love, shows how much He cares. He’s sacrificing the beauty of His throne to put you on your throne. He’s not selfish nor is He seeking any profit. He simply wants the best for you. He’s worried when you cannot see or feel how much He cares. He’s surprised that you are easily deceived and controlled by the mundane things of this world when He’s offering you the world’s best through the salvation experience.

He’s the agape love. He loves unconditionally. He’s able to love continually forever even in your sin and erring moments. He can easily forgive and pardon your errors. Read more

New Glory Devotional: FISHERS OF MEN – Sunday, November 25, 2012

By Pastor Ayodeji Agbelusi

Memorise: “And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. ” (Mark 1:17).

Read: Mark 1:16-18

God has created you with a unique assignment on earth. You are not alive just for the fun of it. There’s a very unique purpose for creating and preserving you. Discovering this purpose should be your greatest quest and desire. If you miss divine purpose, you have missed the essence of coming to this world. Your life should revolve around God and not the world. I have seen several people in my few years on earth. Some have no other thought than to get better physically, in dressing, riches, travels and affluence. Outside these, they are useless to themselves, their families and the people round them. I’m happy to tell you today that the thoughts of God concerning you supersede all that and He has a better provision for you which will bring forth eternal results.

“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” (1 Timothy 4:8).

I saw in a movie how a lady specialised in gathering other young ladies to be used and molested by rich men through fornication. She found joy in this evil to the destruction of innocent souls in hell. We all have our special roles in the lives of people around us. It’s either you are preparing people to get God or you are leading them to the gates of hell through your actions and counsel.

“And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. ” (Mark 1:17).

What are you doing about soul winning into God’s kingdom? Are you helping in this assignment or acting otherwise. If you will be sincere to yourself, you know where you belong. It’s been a while that you have surrendered your life to Christ but you cannot boast of a life that has been transformed from darkness to light through your spiritual labour. If I may ask you, what exactly are you doing for God? Remember He has done everything for you. He gave you HIs only begotten Son to redeem you from the powers of sin and to prepare you for a life after this sinful world. What assignment are you fulfilling? What’s your role in your local church. Are you supporting your pastor and other ministers or you are part of them that destroy the work of the ministry through ungodly side talks? What about people around you in your house and office? Are you fishing them for God’s kingdom or supporting their ungodly moves to the destruction of their souls? Are you a fisher of men like Jesus would like you be? It’s never late. Take up your cross today and be a part of the ministry of Jesus. Stop wasting your lifetime concentrating on beauty and riches. Beauty will soon fade away and money has wings. Don’t loose your soul through worldly lust. Get into Godly activity and prepare rewards for yourself in heaven.

“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” (Daniel 12:3).

Action Point:
Get started today. Make up your mind to get people into God’s kingdom instead of sending them to hell through your actions, words and lifestyles. Be a fisher of Men!

New Glory Devotional: THE DEVIL’S ROLE – Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Memorise: “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. ” (John 10:10).

Read: Luke 13:10-16

The Lord Jesus Christ compared the woman bound by a physical condition of sickness to an ox that is tied down at a stall; so we can learn a lot about what problem does in the lives of people. It reduces the mentality of a person, limiting his or her freedom, and does a lot of negative things to people. The devil is master at using situations and circumstances to damage and steal something precious that you need on your journey to your purpose.

The children of Israel murmured against Moses and said he should have left them in Egypt instead of bringing them out of slavery just because they faced a little challenge. This is what their time in slavery did to them. They could not see the future God was taking them to. God’s goal is not just to solve a problem for you, but to move you to your purpose.

It’s not a shame to have a problem that you’re dealing with, but it is wrong to continue grappling with problems all through your life and if you don’t come to God, if you don’t respond to the provision of God you will have to keep dealing with problems throughout your life because you won’t have time for your purpose.

Problem wants to employ your time, your faculties, your energy and your resources just like God designed your purpose to do, when you are engaged with it, you don’t have the time for problems. When you’re engaged with a problem, you have little or no time for your purpose and that’s the goal of the devil. You must make sure this is not true concerning you.

Prayer

Lord I receive a seven-fold restoration of everything I will need on my journey to purpose and my destiny platform that has been stolen or affected by problems, situations and circumstances which I have gone through in Jesus’ name.

New Glory Devotional: EVIL COMMUNICATION – Thursday, November 1, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” (1 Corinthians 15:33).

Read: 1 Corinthians 15:33-34

As you grow through the stages of life, you need to be mindful of the relationships you keep. The kind of people you grow up with, the nature of friendships you keep and the life you inherit or acquire in such relationships will greatly determine how far you will go in pursuit of greatness and excellence in life.

“Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which betrayeth itself.” (Proverbs 27:16).

The best you can get in friendship is growth, expansion, love and sustenance. Anything void of these is no longer the best for your enviable destiny. You must choose your friends carefully and be sure you’re safe in their hands.

“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” (1 Corinthians 15:33).

Every relationship you keep will either make or mar your destiny. There’s a relationship you keep that promotes growth and productivity and there are so many others that can damage your image in the world and cause you to end in total shame and regret. As a child of God, you need no preacher to tell you again that you don’t belong to this world. You have been redeemed by the blood of the lamb and your life must show it.

…Know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” (James 4:4).

You cannot go with the world and not be worldly. You can’t even grow to the stature of the fullness of Christ if your relationship is with the world. You will never get the best of God on that job, business, career and marriage if all you do is to party and merry with people who know not what they’re doing or where they’re going. As the saying goes: show me your friend and I will tell who you are. You can hardly be better than the relationships you keep. You may say it doesn’t matter but the truth is, those negative actions and reactions are already becoming part of your life style.

The Bible says: “And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?” (2 Corinthians 6:15). If you dwell in God, you will remain Godly. If you meddle with the men of this world you can’t but be corrupted into sinful and worldly lust. Please be careful and don’t destroy the good life that God has created for you to enjoy. Who are your friends? Where lies the secret of your goings and comings? Are you being helped or being destroyed in that relationship? Is that guy or lady helping you to discover your God given assignment on earth or you’re on your way to regrets and shame due to your inability to see correctly? This is the time to decide on who you will follow. Jesus is your best friend and the Holy Spirit your greatest comforter. If you don’t have Jesus, or you are yet to be in a relationship with Him, you have cheated yourself and have been grossly deceived. Be wise! Choose the quality of your friendships and get the best out of that relationship.

Action Point:

Any ship that will not bring you to your desired destiny will either sink in the voyage of life and get your destiny and time wasted. Reject evil relationships and unholy communication. Get Jesus and get all you need for joy and fulfilment in life.

Happy New Month and God bless the remaining days of the year for you and your family. You will not live your years on earth in sorrow nor pains but your joy will be exceeding full. Shalom!!!
