New Glory Devotional: TASTE AND SEE – Friday, October 26, 2012

By Pastor Ayodeji Agbelusi

Memorise: “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” (Psalm 34:8).

Read: Psalm 34:8-10

What you perceive about a meal is not enough to make conclusions about it. You need to take a bite in order to ascertain the reality of the aroma. You will be robbing yourself of the value and benefit in a meal if you stay at the aroma level only. You can’t get the best of the nutrition until you take time to eat and digest the meal. So is your relationship with God. Our God is not just a good God, He’s wonderful, marvellous, merciful and also gracious. You can only enjoy the best of God when you give diligence to partake in hearing, listening, obeying and doing His heavenly command.

“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” (Psalm 34:8).

The tasting is in the obeying and doing of His command on earth. You don’t qualify for divine nourishment and benefits until you boldly move closer to God in total readiness to obey and do His will. You will see the goodness of the Lord as you begin to taste His word for your desired nourishment.

“But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” (James 1:25).

Your blessing won’t start at hearing but in doing His will.

You have access to kingdom benefits. It’s very possible for you to enjoy all that God has to offer humanity. The provisions of God are packaged and branded into salvation through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. If you have not surrendered you entire life unto Him, it will be difficult to taste how good and pleasant He is. Salvation qualifies you access into the supernatural. Holiness and sanctification are the keys to kingdom benefits. Without holiness no man shall see the Lord. Hebrew 12:14. You need to see God to taste God. You need His touch for your required deliverance and prosperity. You cannot continue wishing. You must be ready to obey in order to enjoy Him. You don’t enjoy your biological parents until you obey and do their wills. God wants to bless you. He wants to show you mercy and deliver you from the errors of your past. Come for a taste of His glory. Get involved in doing his counsels at such a time like this. You will begin to harvest the miraculous in Jesus mighty name.

I know you have tasted the world and it’s obvious you returned with disappointments, sorrow, regrets with your heart shattered and completely broken. The world has nothing to offer you but pain.

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” (1 John 2:16-17).

You can’t remain worldly and enjoy the best of God. All that God has to offer are present with Him at His table. Are you qualified to taste of His goodness and mercy? You can make yourself available unto divine benefits if you wish. Renounce the works of the flesh and follow the Creator of your soul. Rebuke the entrance of the devil into your life and begin to taste of the goodness of the Lord. You can’t taste Him and not be nourished. If you come near unto Him,you will be changed, transformed and renewed to enjoy all His kingdom benefits. Are you ready to taste and see how good the Lord is? The decision is yours!

Action Point:

The closer you are to God the better you become on earth. Don’t wait any longer. Come by faith, taste and see that the Lord is good.
