As a part of its 2017 activities, YELOTO African Children Foundation awarded scholarships to the best male and female students from junior and senior categories on Wednesday, 25th January 2017 at the Mayflower School Ikenne, Ogun State Nigeria.
This is the second in the series.
The scholarships were awarded to 15 recipients and were presented with cheques.
YELOTO was represented by Idowu Olasunkanmi, the Director of Public Communication
I sat and spoke with the C.E.O of Yeloto African Children Foundation, Dr. Oluyemi Olawaiye, and was immediately taken by his strong sense of motivation to excel in his personal life and his equally passionate desire in supporting enterprising students.
His perspective is that students should be constantly recognized and motivated to continue to excel, as they are diamonds waiting to be cultivated by the love and attention poured into them by their families and the global community. He emphasized his goal of wanting “to make a difference in the lives of as many African children as he possibly can. It is his belief that our purpose in life is to show compassion and be willing to serve others.” As such he is determined to do all within his power to enrich the lives of children he comes across.
