Oya Media UK today announced the launch of the Season 2 of #AskFunmi Series by TV Icon Funmi Iyanda.

The Season 2 will debut on Tuesday, 31st October 2017.

Funmi Iyanda established a precedent of truth and openness in the thoughts and views of her guests in the first season of Ask Funmi. And in season 2 she invites a new set of guests onto her couch, delving deeper into their lives, uncovering their views on work, society, and life, and revealing things that have never been shared, which makes for entertaining and thought-provoking watching. She also offers her unusual perspective on some big issues.

Highlights of season 1 included the viral Yoruba Demons deconstruction video and interviews with economist and writer Feyi Fawehinmi, YouTube star and beauty guru John Maclean as well as comedian and Fitness expert Wale Gates.

Nigeria grants three-year tax reliefs to new TSTV

New pay Television operator, TStv Africa, has been granted three-year tax relief by the federal government.

The newly inaugurated television was also granted tax free dividends to all investors in the company.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, announced incentives on Sunday night in Abuja at a dinner to mark the official unveiling of the new company.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports TStv Africa is a wholly owned by Nigerian Pay TV operator with refined offerings of novel Unclassified Pay Per View subscription and complimentary internet services. Read more

Twitter trends: Nigerians hail TSTV, mock DSTV others

The launch of a new satellite television, TSTV has been welcomed by many Nigerians who took to their social media platforms to celebrate the new provider.

While celebrating the new provider, they mocked DSTV and other cable service providers saying that TSTV has brought very good competition that would put them   on their toes.

Many of the Nigerians who alleged exploitation by existing satellite TV providers said that TSTV has  affordable rates and better offers.

TSTV among other things, promises  to offer pay-per-view, affordable subscription rates with daily subscription available as well as a 20gb free data all for a N5,000 decoder and maximum monthly subscription of N3,000.

Long before it was launched on Oct. 1, many Nigerians had treated the news of its coming with much anticipation.  Many believe the coming of TSTV will break the control of DSTV.

Nollywood star, Mercy Johnson now SSA entertainment, Kogi State

Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has appointed Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on entertainment, arts and culture .

Johnson’s appointment was announced, along with 62 others, in a statement issued in Lokoja on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government ( SSG), Dr Folashade Ayoade.

The appointments take effect from April 1, the statement said.

According to Ayoade, the rationale for the appointments is to “fill key positions with the right people and to broaden inclusiveness in governance by bringing people from more communities on board”. Read more
