New Glory Devotional: THIS IS TRUE LOVE – Friday February 14, 2014

By Pastor Ayodeji Agbelusi »

Memorise: Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

Read: John 15:12-14

Jesus agreed to pay the price for our salvation and the remission of the sins of the whole world. He didn’t just take that upon himself but did all that because he was in love.  This kind of love is so “unexplainable”. How can one understand that a sinless soul chose to die for the sinful and disobedient? He’s the best love we can ever receive and if that is appreciated and well understood, we shall no longer need to worry about being disappointed when we cast our cares on the world and the men therein. Jesus, in love, shows how much He cares. He’s sacrificing the beauty of His throne to put you on your throne. He’s not selfish nor is He seeking any profit. He simply wants the best for you. He’s worried when you cannot see or feel how much He cares. He’s surprised that you are easily deceived and controlled by the mundane things of this world when He’s offering you the world’s best through the salvation experience.

He’s the agape love. He loves unconditionally. He’s able to love continually forever even in your sin and erring moments. He can easily forgive and pardon your errors.

He won’t even talk about your past errors and sin once you repent and forsake them. He says in His word: I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Isaiah 43:25. Everyday with Him comes with new glory and blessings. He has a better gift for each day that comes. He won’t hold anything back from them that love Him. He gives life freely. That’s why you can’t die untimely. He sets free when the oppressors are coming with their battles. He alone fights for those who receive His love. He also became poor to launch you into seasons of endless blessings and prosperity. He’s the love you have been dreaming of. He’s never proud of anything even when He has it all. So humble and compassionate. See how He knelt at baptism before His cousin – John. He took upon Him the form of a servant in order to make you a ruler. That’s Jesus Christ for you. Wouldn’t you rather accept this kind of love? I know you have been disappointed times without number by those who claim they love you but you are safe now. It’s a new dawn for you and your family. There’s better assurance for you. You cannot be deceived again. Your heartbreak and hurts are all over. Your years of disappointments through worldly lust are over. You can get the best as you accept Him as your Lord and personal Saviour.

He’s still calling. JESUS says He wants to love you all over again. He will wash your sins away. Come on, your past isn’t so bad that He cannot handle it. He will make all things new. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17. He will renew the love in your marriage. Your children will love you again and even better than ever. You will get the kind of love you desire in your plans to settle down all because Jesus will make all things become new for you. You can still regain your lost grounds and opportunities only if you accept His love for you. This is the true love. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16. You will not perish in pains and regrets and your years of hurts and heartbreak shall be converted to seasons of peace and true love in Jesus mighty name.

Pray with me:
Lord Jesus, I accept you as the love of my life.  I know I have gone chasing for love where no love abounds. But now I’m back at your feet. Please accept me and give me room in your heart. I want to enjoy the blessings and peace that come from you. I also want to reign with you at the end of the ages. Thank your Lord for accepting me. Forever I am Yours, Amen.
