Memorise: “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” (1 Corinthians 15:33).
Read: 1 Corinthians 15:33-34
As you grow through the stages of life, you need to be mindful of the relationships you keep. The kind of people you grow up with, the nature of friendships you keep and the life you inherit or acquire in such relationships will greatly determine how far you will go in pursuit of greatness and excellence in life.
“Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which betrayeth itself.” (Proverbs 27:16).
The best you can get in friendship is growth, expansion, love and sustenance. Anything void of these is no longer the best for your enviable destiny. You must choose your friends carefully and be sure you’re safe in their hands.
“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” (1 Corinthians 15:33).
Every relationship you keep will either make or mar your destiny. There’s a relationship you keep that promotes growth and productivity and there are so many others that can damage your image in the world and cause you to end in total shame and regret. As a child of God, you need no preacher to tell you again that you don’t belong to this world. You have been redeemed by the blood of the lamb and your life must show it.
…Know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” (James 4:4).
You cannot go with the world and not be worldly. You can’t even grow to the stature of the fullness of Christ if your relationship is with the world. You will never get the best of God on that job, business, career and marriage if all you do is to party and merry with people who know not what they’re doing or where they’re going. As the saying goes: show me your friend and I will tell who you are. You can hardly be better than the relationships you keep. You may say it doesn’t matter but the truth is, those negative actions and reactions are already becoming part of your life style.
The Bible says: “And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?” (2 Corinthians 6:15). If you dwell in God, you will remain Godly. If you meddle with the men of this world you can’t but be corrupted into sinful and worldly lust. Please be careful and don’t destroy the good life that God has created for you to enjoy. Who are your friends? Where lies the secret of your goings and comings? Are you being helped or being destroyed in that relationship? Is that guy or lady helping you to discover your God given assignment on earth or you’re on your way to regrets and shame due to your inability to see correctly? This is the time to decide on who you will follow. Jesus is your best friend and the Holy Spirit your greatest comforter. If you don’t have Jesus, or you are yet to be in a relationship with Him, you have cheated yourself and have been grossly deceived. Be wise! Choose the quality of your friendships and get the best out of that relationship.
Any ship that will not bring you to your desired destiny will either sink in the voyage of life and get your destiny and time wasted. Reject evil relationships and unholy communication. Get Jesus and get all you need for joy and fulfilment in life.
Happy New Month and God bless the remaining days of the year for you and your family. You will not live your years on earth in sorrow nor pains but your joy will be exceeding full. Shalom!!!
