Christianity is a lifestyle and it shows wherever you go provided you are genuinely transformed and renewed by the precious blood of Jesus. The life you lead and the company you keep is a proof of who you are. You can’t be of Christ and not be different in this crooked and perverse generation.
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. ” (Matthew 5:14-15).
Light can never be hidden. It commands the respect of darkness and rules in all places. Light stands out. The believer in Christ is called the Light of the world because he is the ambassador of Christ on the earth and also a guide of the world out of obscurity to the knowledge and counsel of the Lord.
You can only proof the sincerity of your salvation through the life you lead. It will show if you are standing for Jesus. “Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. ” (Matthew 5:15). Why are you covering the grace upon your life? Why are you ashamed of being called a Christian among your friends, colleagues and before sinners? What are you advertising – God or worldliness? Who do you worship and respect – the Lord Jesus Christ or your boss who brings reproach to the name of God?
“And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.” (Acts 5:40-41).
This is the time to let your light shine so bright! This generation awaits your manifestation and as a child of God you are either making God happy or celebrating wickedness. If you truly carry the light of God you will do the work that brings salvation to all. This is the end of the age and Christ will soon return. What are you going to say before his throne concerning the life you have living.
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10).
Are you truly for God or the world? Where do you belong brethren? Is it not becoming difficult daily to place you correctly? You are neither here or there! Can the world out there testify that you are truly a born again Christian? What is your next door neighbour saying about the faith you proclaim? Are you drawing more souls to heaven or your lifestyle, dressing, language, music and daily conduct is helping the devil to gain more followers? You need to rethink and be guided accordingly. The coming of Lord is near!
PRAYER:
Father Lord, please help me on a daily basis to stand out from the crowd and to be a channel of salvation to this world of sin.
