Memorise: “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:9).
Read: Joshua 1:7-9
One characteristic that made David to stand out in the battles of life was courage. He was fully determined to conquer. Courage is being afraid but refusing to fear. Courage is never enabled until there’s a reason to fear. I remember as a child in the village, how fearful it was when we saw a snake coming near our house one day. The saving grace then, was the ability to summon up courage to destroy the venomous beast.
It is required as we progress in life that we always be courageous. Life is never a fanfare as many make it out to be. It’s actually a warfare. No man stands in the midst of a dreadful battle without fear of being killed, wounded or maimed. The only access to victory in the battles of life is courage to move on and never give in to fear.
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:9).
You are commanded to be courageous. It was not an advice. It’s mandatory that you begin to see victories in those battles facing your marriage, business, education and ministry. You are not expected to give up. “And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:” (Exodus 14:15). Fear brings setbacks and defeat. Courage compels victory and success. If you through fear retire in the midst of life’s struggles, you’ll end up a prey in the camp of the enemy.
David moved towards the roaring Goliath with faith and unwavering courage. He conquered the enemy of his time by believing and acting on the word of God. You don’t know how successful you’ll become in that business if you don’t have the courage to start. I once spoke with a lady who said she could not take up a university programme because she wasn’t sure she would make it in the course being offered her by the school management. People will come to discourage you in that business. They will show you 101 reasons why failure is inevitable. The choice is yours to believe your God for the supernatural or to lose your miracle to fear.
What is that assignment before you? How lofty is that project? You can only win if you have enough courage to start. The very day you begin to confront your fears is the day your open door to unlimited victory starts. You will return with your victory songs in Jesus mighty name.
I receive grace to conquer my fear. I’m not giving up because victory is mine. Halleluyah!
