New Glory Devotional: THE NAME OF JESUS 1 – Saturday, October 20, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:” (Philippians 2:9).

Read: Phil.2:9-11

Names are not just ordinary. The name you bear has a lot to do with the life you live and the destiny you will ultimately fulfil. There’s a level of power backing attached to every name on earth and there’s a spirit behind every personal or family name. That’s why you can’t afford to claim a name that will affect your destiny negatively. Some names command respect and honour while some produce shame and disgrace. You can decide to agree to the meaning of the name you bear or seek a change spiritually and physically. In 1Chronicles 4:9-10, Jabez discovered there was evil attached to his name and he sought God in violent and heartfelt prayers for instant change that culminated in his entire deliverance and total liberation from the shackles of poverty and sorrow.

The greatest name ever given in heaven and on earth is the name JESUS. That’s the only name that answers to every question of man on earth.

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21).

The only name available for your total deliverance from sins and that grants you access to see God.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6).

That’s our Lord Jesus. He’s enough solution to all your age-long family problems and evil traits.

This name of the Lord is a strong tower. Once you enter the name of Jesus, you can be sure your own names will come under subjection to His so that your portion on the earth will be delivered. “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;” (Philippians 2:10).

What name are you called? What is the glory attached to the name you bear? I may not know the glory or shame attached to what you are called, but I have good news for you, the name of Jesus is enough solution to the spirit behind that name and all problems following you like Jabez. Are you called sick? There’s healing power in His name. Maybe they call you barren, Jesus gives children freely because they are His heritage. Are you called poor? He became poor that you through His poverty might be rich! Is there a family curse attached to that name? It’s possible you are named after an idol in your family or after a wicked grandfather who succeeded in using the virtues of every single child born to that family for rituals. The name of the Lord will cause them to bow out. Are you operating under a family curse? I have a good news for you: Gal.3:13 says “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:”

At every point in your life, you can rely on the potency and Almighty effect of the name of Jesus for your desired turn around. It will work for you as you begin to call Him for a transformation of your name from failure to success.

Don’t accept what God is not calling you. Seek the Lord for the revelation of His glory over your life and eternal transformation of the negative effect of your names.

New Glory Devotional: SON OR SERVANT? – Friday, October 19, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;” (Galatians 4:1).

Read: Galatians 4:1-5

It’s the joy of every parent to see their child develop through the stages of life. The growth of a child is a journey and it’s a gradual process producing great result. Any child with stunted growth produces worries to the parents and automatically becomes the concern of all family members. When you are born of God, you are either growing in grace, stagnant or stunted. God’s expectation of you is your daily growth to sonship so that you will be able to access the hidden treasures of His Kingdom.

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” (1 Peter 2:2).

Milk is the most required meal for every infant. If you will grow out of infancy and stay strong, you must desire the word of the Lord sincerely. We have so many Christians out there who are no different from unbelievers because they haven’t been rooted in the word of the Lord. If you don’t feed on His word, you will not qualify for higher heights in the kingdom and will be prone to unlimited temptations and diverse attacks of the devil.

“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;” (Ephesians 4:14).

A baby knows not how to go. He or she cannot think or make decisions by himself or herself and thus is led to everything in life. So are you when you refuse to grow and remain at a single position. Since you don’t, through the scriptures, know where and how to go, your future becomes uncertain and you end up following or copying the destinies of other people or are led astray by suggestions from others. Many have been misled into error and regrets in life while some destinies were totally destroyed due to immaturity and lack of purposeful living.

One other evil of stagnancy or stunted growth is that it disqualifies you from your God ordained height on earth. There isn’t much you do can as a child. No one can commit great projects into your hands until you mature into sonship. There’s a level of divine blessing you can never reach until you begin to feed daily on His word and also get committed to prayers and kingdom service.

“And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.” (1 Corinthians 3:1-2).

You are nothing different from a servant if you can’t access the secret places of your Father. The decision to move up is your sole responsibility. No one can get maturity for you. You need to pay the price to get the prize. What are you doing with growing in grace? Most Christians are just patching it. Stop being a baby. You have been spoon-fed enough. “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;” (Ephesians 4:14). Beloved, you need to move up and take your place as a bona fide son of God. The decision is yours!

Action Point:

You can’t keep watching and waiting. Sonship won’t jump on you. It’s not a title. You must pay the price to attain it.

New Glory Devotional: REHOBOTH – Thursday, October 18, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.” (Genesis 26:22).

Read: Genesis 26: 1-22

Your destiny is not in the hands of any man. No king, no prince or government can overrule what God has spoken concerning your life, family and future. It doesn’t matter your current financial or economic state. The situation of your country notwithstanding, the counsel of the Lord for your life shall stand forever.
“In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.” (Job 5:20).

Beloved, your Redeemer lives and He’s able to create rooms for you to flourish endlessly on the earth. It’s not over.

…and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.” (Genesis 26:22).

The Lord is able to make all grace abound towards you. You may be facing several challenges today. It’s possible you are facing several frustrations here and there. I want you to rejoice because those seasons will soon be gone. Your enemies will have no other choice than to give up. God is at work in your marriage. He’s working out miracles for you regarding your job search. Your rent will be paid because the Lord is making room for you to flourish and you shall smile again.

The Philistines strove endlessly with Isaac. While they were mocking him, God was busy making him. God is not silent over your case. He sees how burdened you are in the hand of your taskmasters. He will send you help.

“And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;” (Exodus 3:7).

Every strong man frustrating you in your marriage, on that job and in that business shall be put to shame in Jesus mighty name.

You must not give up. Stay committed on your job, be committed to your God. Isaac did not surrender to fate. He became stronger in the midst of the battle. You must not go back to your option B. God is still working in the miraculous. Don’t allow your enemies to see your tears. Be bold, be strong, for the Lord your God is with you. Say to that mountain, thou shall become plain. Prophesy to your dry bones and they shall be covered with flesh.

“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:” (Genesis 26:12-13). This scripture shall be your testimony. Where others are failing, you will be flourishing. When they are barely surviving, you will be triumphing through God. Rehoboth – the Lord will make room for your success, promotion, deliverance and abundant supply.

Father, please make room for me to flourish on the earth and put my enemies to open shame.

New Glory Devotional: PRAYERLESS AND HELPLESS – Wednesday, October 17, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16).

Read: Luke 18:1-8

The study of the Word of God makes a lot of difference in the life of a believer. You can’t go far with God if you don’t know His Word, which is the manual of life. If you will diligently heed His Word, you will not only make your way prosperous, you will surely have good success. Joshua 1: 8. The Word of the Lord is the key that opens the treasures of the earth and its fullness thereof. You can’t access God without engaging the right word for your desired breakthrough and turn around. People pray amiss because they lack His counsel and promise through the written and spoken Word. If your Word level is high, your God level will appreciate simultaneously.

One good point you must also realise is, you can’t go far in your prayer life if you lack the right word! You won’t be able to win the heart of your neighbour who is a mere mortal like you if you can’t put your words straight. You are helpless without the right words and channel of request. Prayer is basically your route to get God over the issues of your life and the right words are the keys to getting His attention. You will forever remain helpless if you can’t carry your burden to Him in prayers. Your lips are not made for lipstick and food only, they were created for praise, worship and prayer so that you don’t suffer in life.

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” (Luke 18:1).

Until your joy is full, you’re not expected to be quiet. Silence connotes agreement and complacency. Until you ask, He’s not compelled to act. Asking compels receiving and until you search it out through prayers, you will never know how greatly He can deliver you from that ugly state of lack and poverty.

“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” (1 Chronicles 4:10).

You are helpless without prayers. You need the power of God to rebuild your altar which laziness, too much sleep, food and sin has broken down. You need to challenge yourself to get back to a better state with your God. Everyday and in every place, you need to pray. Concerning the state of your family, business, health and career, you need God except you are satisfied.

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:1-2).

Your husband cannot help you. Your uncle will fail you. Parents too, are limited. God is your only option for the desired miracle. Stop the spiritual laziness and engage the force of praise, worship and violent prayers to possess your possessions on the earth. You will surely share your testimonies if you faint not.

I rebuke every spiritual laziness robbing me of my blessings in the place of prayers.

New Glory Devotional: INIQUITY SHALL ABOUND – Tuesday, October 16, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. ” (Matthew 24:12).

Read: Matthew 24:12-15

One of the greatest happenings of the end of the age is the multiplication of sin and iniquity. Crime rate and fleshly sins shall increase and this will turn the heart of many unto worldliness, lusts and demonic cravings. Jesus advised us concerning the happenings of this present time and the possible route to eternal freedom.

The current happenings in the nations of the world are enough warnings for every wise heart. These issues of the end time is spreading so fast and it’s because God is still very concerned about the redemption of the whole universe. You can either prepare to see the Lord or cry eternally in hell with the devil.

Don’t be deceived brethren, the modernisation of sin and iniquity is basically the devil’s method of getting more followers. You must open your heart, eyes and mind wide to avoid distractions of any kind. The state of Sodom and Gomorrah, Tyre and Sidon are too little compared to the very present state of the world. Are you not concerned? How is your faith level? Do you still believe strongly in total holiness and sanctification? Are you sure you are not copying the styles and manners of the world? Where is your heart, here or there? When they say the church has entered the world and vice versa, are they not seeing you as one of the examples? If you are heaven bound you will know.

Sin is a sinker. The more you love the world, the lesser you’ll fear the Lord. The love of this present world is enmity against God and if you are one of the enemies of God, how shall you escape?

“Behold, I have told you before.” (Matthew 24:25).

Where do you belong my brothers and sisters? “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. ” (Matthew 24:12). Are you getting hotter with God in your daily walk or you are getting closer to the devil through lust. The current signs of the end are the very reasons you should abstain from every fleshly lust that war against your soul.

“Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” (1 Peter 2:11-12).

This is the right time for true fellowship with God. Now is the chosen time to concentrate on Him for total deliverance and redemption. Choose not to be weary. Take your stand and be separated from the sins of this age. Be born again in spirit and in truth.

If you are of the world you will know and if you belong to the camp of the Lord it will show. Where do you stand?

New Glory Devotional: TRAIN UP A CHILD – Monday, October 15, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.” (Isaiah 54:13).

Read: Proverbs 4: 20-22

It’s not enough to just have children, it’s required that every single child born into a family be trained in the way of the Lord to forestall future evil and unrest. Several trainings abound from one family to the other. You can’t get good or peace from a child whose future was built on faulty foundation. If you fail in your role as a parent, you are most likely to face a future of total unrest and sorrow.

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6).

Let every parent be so guided.

Children learn mostly through examples and direct pictures. It’s not enough to just tell them what to do. They will copy what you do. The life of a parent has either positive or negative effect on the growth and development of a child. You must remember that you are directly accountable for whatsoever happens to every single child in your care. Those children are not yours, they belong to God. He has chosen you as custodians and caretakers on the earth and will require an account of them from you. You can’t afford to mess around with them.

“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” (Psalm 127:3).

Are you training your children to fear and love the Lord or have you handed them over to the present day media to corrupt their simple hearts and minds with immoral songs, movies and worldly languages? Corrupt children will produce corrupt families which will in turn lead to a corrupt society! But what you don’t have you can’t offer. If you are out of order as a parent, it will be difficult to correct a erring child. You need to live correctly to be a blessing to your children. If you are sold out to parties, evil relationships, gossips and the rest, you should expect these traits from your wards except the Lord has mercy. It will be too painful to see your children inherit any of your bad traits. Correct your lifestyle now and be drawn to God through faith and genuine repentance.

“For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.” (Genesis 18:19).

What is God saying about your family? Are you an example of good training to children in any way? What kind of life are you leading? What message are you passing across to your household as a mother? If your children are not getting God, they will embrace the devil through worldliness. There’s is the rod and the word of the Lord for your use. You should always pray for these children and lead them in the way they should go. Don’t leave the upbringing of your children to your house helps. Spend quality time at home to show them love and care and be concerned about their growth generally. If you seek peace in your future as a father or mother, invest solidly now on the best spiritual, academic and moral training of your God-given children. “And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.” (Isaiah 54:13).

Bastards are not far fetched in our present society. What produces evil children is lack of proper and adequate discipline and home training. “But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.” (Hebrews 12:8). You need to check your home again, what type of children are you raising? Those that will showcase the good father in you or those that will bring shame to your family name in future. You can’t get the best from your family if you fail to offer and sacrifice the best. Act wisely now and train up your household in the right ways for successful living. You will have peace eternally and it shall be well with you.

Father, help me to raise godly and blessed children on the earth.

New Glory Devotional: FOR SUCH A TIME LIKE THIS – Sunday, October 14, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14).

Read: Esther 4:14-16

Another person whose fame rose unstoppably in the Bible was Joseph. God’s provision for him was unique and timely. Thank God Joseph wasted no time in realising that his affluence and position was directly linked to the deliverance of his brethren and the nation of Israel. It’s important you find out why God blessed you. God is not a waster of resources. He gives seed to the sower and mere bread to consumers. If you are a sower, you will be a blessing but consumers have nothing to offer. God will only qualify you for higher heights if there’s a provision in your heart to bless and not to oppress. Many of the so-called rich in our society today are mere oppressors and are never channels of blessing to their people. I pray that God will not regret blessing you in Jesus mighty name.

The position of parents in the successful development of a child can never be over emphasised. Thank God for Mordecai. He showed up as a unique uncle to bring Esther to remembrance of the reason why God positioned her in the palace. It was for such a time when the people of God would require a saviour and urgent deliverer. Do you realise that God is not just promoting and blessing you on that job for nothing? It’s impossible for you to witness untold increase in that business without a divine mandate. Don’t ever make the mistake of thinking that the gifts and talents you have are for personal use and profit. No brother, all these blessings are there for a time when they will be needed in His kingdom.

…and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14).

You need someone to talk to you. Our politicians and leaders need to be corrected on what to do with their titles and offices. As a minister in God’s vineyard, you need to talk to yourself. What is the value you have added since you gained that position and authority? Who has benefited from the grace of God upon your life? Are you merely watching and waiting? Delay is dangerous. If you fail continually to appropriate the purpose of the blessings of God upon your life, you will loose them to other profitable servants whom the Lord has prepared.

You need to decide quickly like Esther did.

“Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.” (Esther 4:16).

You must be ready to sacrifice what you have and all you’ve earned. This is the right time to support the work of the Lord. Now is the time to make yourself available for the projects of God towards the salvation of men. Your affluence should translate to kingdom influence. You are created and sent to that region for such a time like this. God is expecting you to defend the cause of the poor, the widows and orphans. What are you still waiting for?

“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” (Romans 8:19).

You can start now! You have waited too long. You have wasted this grace enough. Why should God be sad or have regrets over his blessing upon your life. Look inward and respond to your Maker concerning the purpose why He created you. May you not fail God and humanity in Jesus mighty name.

Examine your life. What is the reason why God has created me with so many talents and blessings? It’s definitely for such a time as this.

New Glory Devotional: EMBRACING DIVINE COUNSEL – Saturday, October 13, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.” (Proverbs 19:21).

Read: Proverbs 19: 20-21

Apart from hearing from the Almighty, one great access that every believer must crave is the ability to see correctly. You can only access the miraculous when you are sufficiently graced to see through the eyes of the spirit the provisions of God for your utmost deliverance and sustenance.

“The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” (Deuteronomy 29:29).

The treasures of heaven are not found in the surface they abound in the depth of divine knowledge, counsel and wisdom.

You ability to discover God’s provision for you in the miraculous is the only gateway to eternal life of peace and prosperity. God has his plans for you but the revelation of this lofty plans is the greatest challenge of my people. While you run helter skelter, God is simply watching and waiting to see what will become of your human labour that is void of divine favour.

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9).

Man is so limited in everything. If you can only unravel the counsels of God for every situation of your life, you will discover there and then that you are greatly loved and never abandoned. You are only frustrated when your mission on earth lacks divine touch and wise counsel. The frustration of so many businesses today came as a result total dependence on human skills, connections and expertise. Know man can receive anything except it’s been given by the Lord. If your desire is not the counsel of God for your destiny, you will struggle all your life to maintain and sustain it. This is the simple reason why many conclude today that marriage is about management as against enjoyment and peace.

“There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.” (Proverbs 19:21). If you will succeed eternally, you need the counsel of the Lord. If your relationship will end up in a fruitful marriage, you must secure divine counsel and leading. If you won’t be frustrated on that project or business adventure, you need to urgently approach your maker for direction and the revelation of His will. Your decision to out smart God is your readiness to struggle in regret eternally. There’s no better way than the route that God has charted for your entire prosperity and safety. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11). You are limited in thought and wisdom. Doing it alone is dangerous. That’s why you see so many single brothers and sisters returning with regrets after 3-4 months or years of fruitless dates with several ungodly partners. Dating is nothing different from gambling. You are simply toying with your emotions when you can’t see through the eyes of the spirit what God has planned for you maritally. It’s better never to be married than to fall into the wrong hands. Marriages void of the counsel of the Lord will surely lead to eternal pain and frustration coupled with deepest regrets. You need to be guided in your quest for a life partner both in marriage and all other life adventures.

“But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:10). You can only posses your portion in the miraculous through the Holy Spirit connection. If you are not filled you will live as a fool. If you are not controlled and directed by the Lord you will live a miserable life without knowing. You must be a genuine child of God to access the depths and secrets benefits of the almighty. Your prayer and word life is the channel to receiving from God. There are also men and women of God loaded with divine wisdom and experience whom God has position to lead you in the way to follow. “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” (Proverbs 11:14). It’s never to late beloved, there’s still a solution if you have missed it in that courtship, business or marriage. Seek the Lord in prayers and move closer to the channels of eternal breakthrough in Christ Jesus.

Father, open my eyes of understand and grant me access to Your counsel for my glorious destiny. Don’t allow me to miss my portion in the miraculous.

New Glory Devotional: REDEEMING THE TIME – Friday, October 12, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:16).

Read: Ephesians 5:15-16

The greatest asset of man on the earth is time. Your time spent is equal to your life spent. In other words, time is life as the saying goes. Each second, minute and hour that has passed draws you closer to the result of your assignment. If you cannot tie up your assignment properly within the specified time, you would end up a waste in place of fruitfulness.

Therefore, it is expedient that you begin to maximise every moment of your life for profit and progress in destiny.

The Psalmist says: “teach us to number our days…” Psalm. 90:12. Every wise hearted believer will take this scripture very seriously. Anything that engages your time is directly or indirectly engaging your life. It’s either your time is positively utilised towards the actualisation of your desired goal or wasted on frivolous and unprofitable adventure. Look back and see, this year is far spent and another “happy new year” is already fast approaching. What have you done with your time this year? Every moment of our life is golden. There’s a blessing and opportunity attached to every time you spend on earth.

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

Until you learn to avoid time wasters on your assignment, work, business and ministry, you will never attain greatness on the earth. Your greatest time waster is procrastination. This is your chief enemy. It’s the enemy within and a younger brother to laziness. There are some friends you keep that have nothing to add but to subtract. These friends abound in your classroom, study arena, workplace, ministry and marriage. They affect you negatively and will never allow you to fulfil God’s mandate per time.

You do not need motivation from anybody my brother and sister. This message is coming so that you will encourage yourself and start looking inwardly at what you should have appropriated with a wise use of your time. It’s never late. You can still be what God wants you to be and achieve what you were meant to achieve in these few remaining months of the year. Instead of wasting away due to reckless use of your time, start redeeming it. To Redeem is to buy back, to recover lost time. What have you lost to careless use of your time? You can gain it back! You can still pass that examination and move on with your education! Regardless of your age, you can still be a soul winner, a life helper and a destiny changer.

Maybe you have wasted the best of your youthful time in immorality due to peer pressure and it appears there’s no future for you maritally, listen to me, you can recover those wasted years through grace. This message is to bring you back to the initial counsel of God for your destiny. You must desire a change in your attitude to time. There’s provision for you in the redemption. All you need right away is to redeem the time remaining and ensure you spend them judiciously towards achieving your desired goal in life.

What steps are you taking towards the time you have wasted in Satan’s kingdom? Wisdom demands that you use the remaining years of your life to witness to souls, support evangelism and missions, give to the poor and be a blessing to your immediate generation. Take a good position at a time like this to recover your lost ground. The Lord will help and be gracious unto you. Shalom!

Father Lord, I receive sufficient grace to recover all the time I have lost to frivolous living.

New Glory Devotional: DON’T BE WEARY – Thursday, October 11, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9).

Read: Galatians 6:9-10

Goodness is one major fruit of the Spirit that you must possess as a true follower of Jesus Christ. You are either doing good or bad. Your role as a Christian in the lives of others is enormous and the earlier you wake up to this responsibility the better. Of what value is the blessing of God on your life if you cannot channel or use it to bless the nations of the world. God said unto Abraham: “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:” (Genesis 12:2).

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38).

Beloved, we have so much to learn from our Saviour Jesus Christ. He was generally good to humanity. Aside from the fact that He’s God, He took it upon Himself to lend a helping hand in reviving lives throughout His ministerial life.

You can’t enjoy the true blessings of God if you are not ready to share it with others. A river becomes fresher, cleaner, clearer and better as it flows. A river that is stagnant will end up stinking and useless to all (Don’t forget the dead sea). You have every reason to complain about how you labour to attain Greatness and how painful it is to share. But I can tell you categorically that there will never be any fruitful labour without the unique touch of God’s favour. There’s no greatness or blessing outside God. If you have good virtues today, God intended that such virtues will be used towards the betterment of humanity, the generations of the world and most especially your fellow believer.

“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” (Galatians 6:10).

If there’s anything that will qualify you for higher heights in Kingdom prosperity, it’s your readiness to share and to bless. Don’t hoard the blessing of God to yourself alone. Are you so blessed and your immediate neighbour suffers in pain, hunger, and reproach? Beloved this shouldn’t be said of you as a child of God. The gifts in your life are from God. Those abilities you now brag about were mere former potentials presently enabled by God for profitability and Kingdom growth. Moreover, God reserves the right to withdraw those gifts/blessings from those who fail to use it as He intended.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9). Don’t get tired especially when it appears that your little efforts are not appreciated. God is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him – Heb.11:6. Activate your potentials and then go out there to bless your world.

Are you rich? sponsor the poor, support the fatherless, care for the widows and help the less privileged. Are you so gifted and multi-talented, make those gifts channels to salvation through God and not a medium of pollution through lust. Don’t get discouraged when your good works are not appreciated. It’s God alone that can say “well done”. He knows your heart and can say truly if you are doing it as a sacrifice or for self glorification.

Action Point:

If you are a blessing physically and spiritually, you will know and God will reward you accordingly. Be good to all!

New Glory Devotional: CHRIST AMBASSADORS – Wednesday, October 10, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;” (2 Corinthians 5:18).

Read: 2 Corinthians 5:18-21

What you do on the earth is a direct pointer to who you represent, and to your assignment at every given point in time. You can always examine what your roles on earth look like. You are either representing God towards world evangelisation or you are embracing the end time moves of the kingdom of darkness to the destruction of souls in hell.

The ministry of Jesus was all about God’s desire for the salvation of humanity.

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:3-4).

His anointing was all about doing good to everyone on the earth! He was never found satisfying His own fleshly desires. He was, all through His ministry, moved towards the deliverance, healing, and salvation of humanity. On prosperity, oh yes, He became poor so that you through His poverty might become rich – 2 Corinthians 8:9.

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;” (2 Corinthians 5:18).

Jesus reconciled us back to God. Our relationship with God was re-established through His new testament blood. He didn’t do it for you alone. It was for the whole world and while He was departing, He commissioned you and I to “greater works”. You are the representative of Christ in this present world.

How well do you represent your Jesus? This assignment is major work and should not be tied to ordinary titles of pastor, deacon, priest or bishop. “This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.” (1 Timothy 3:1). You are called to work the works of Him who called you while it’s day, the night cometh…you won’t be able to work again – John 9:4. Are you doing His work at all or you are simply fooling around chasing after mere titles? Do you even know what the assignment is? Can you be truly called a sincere representative of Christ in your immediate local assembly or neighbourhood? What are you doing to reconcile the world back to God. The assignment is clear….make disciples of all nations.

It will take a disciple to make another. What kind of disciple are you? Who are your followers? If they are following you at all, where are you taking them! As a parent, what example are you laying for the children God has put in your care. As a pastor, are you sure you are leading the flock towards God or into mammon worship due to your love for money and the untold gratification of prosperity? As a reader of this devotional, is your lifestyle a representation of the heavenly pattern? Beloved, where do you stand in the ministry of reconciliation?

“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;” (2 Corinthians 5:18).

Mirror your life through His word and make all the necessary adjustments. You were created to be a blessing to your world and not a source of pollution. “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” (James 1:25). Be reconciled to God and take up this assignment of bringing souls back from destruction to the joy of salvation through Christ. Be a blessing to humanity and it shall be well with all you do!

Action Point:

Choose to be a life helper! Be What God wants you to be. Obey the heavenly vision!

New Glory Devotional: YES I CAN – Tuesday, October 9, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13).

Read: Numbers 13: 30-31

It is the presence of God in a man’s life that promotes him from the natural to the supernatural.

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Corinthians 2:14).

Without divine help, the mortal man is feeble and extremely vulnerable. You can only get the best of God when your life is solely dependent on Him and Him alone. Without God, victory as far as life is concerned will be a mere daydream.

Your glorious future is not a subject for debate. God has a good plan for you and has promised to give you an expected end. Jer.29:11. For the children of Israel, possessing canaan was a settled issue. God will not lie nor repent of His word. What He has spoken concerning you, your family, business and career will doubtless come to pass in Jesus mighty name.

These promises however, can be hindered. Your confessions can rob you of your God-ordained possessions. If you cannot confess it, you have no access to possess it. You must agree that salvation comes through grace only when you wilfully and genuinely confess Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. So with your promised land, your future is only possible when you truly believe God for His word and you proclaim it without wavering. This is not an attempt at rhyme at all neither is it a cliché, your confession will affect your possession, whether positively or otherwise. That’s why faith is always required at every stage of your life. If you can’t believe it, you can’t receive it. You can only confess what you believe.

Four years of waiting on the Lord for the fruit of the womb is not enough reason for you to agree with the devil that you are barren. You must not confess failure when God has designed you for success. As a lady, why are you joining the world in believing that all men are the same! Your experience notwithstanding, God is more than able to lead a faithful brother to you! Your God can never be too late or too early, He’s always on point. Don’t join myopic folks to confess that there are no jobs for graduates. If God could prosper Isaac during the days of famine in Gen.26, He will surely come through for you if you truly believe. Don’t give in to fear or evil report. Disallow every negative word and advice that comes contrary to God’s operations in your destiny. What you don’t resist with faith and holy anger has every right to remain! If you entertain negative advice and indulge in negative confession, that’s your choice. Evil reports will not rob you of your divine possessions in Jesus name.

“And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.” (Numbers 13:30).

Stand up at once and say to yourself: Yes I can. I am well able to get this task done. I cannot be intimidated.

Intimidation is the foundation of frustration and limitation of a man. You don’t need to feel inferior before any man. Greater is He that is in you compared to him that is in the world. You carry God, so, all doors must open to you of their own accord. You have divine backing already! Move on with a positive attitude, faith and positive confession. Go and possess your portion in the miraculous. I tell you beloved, you are well able to dispossess your enemies sitting on your rights, promotion, joy and breakthrough. Go and be victorious. Say unto yourself: Yes! I can do all things through Christ.

I receive grace to think in line with your word and to possess my portion through positive confession.

New Glory Devotional: FULLNESS OF JOY – Monday October 8, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” (Psalm 16:11).

Read: Psalm 16:5-11

Man is by nature, limited in all areas of life. What qualifies a man for glory, victory and excellence is the backing of the Almighty. For without God, man can do nothing (John 15:5). Every man on earth is in daily search of joy and fulfilment. These cravings have either brought men closer to God or gotten them enticed by the devil.

Joy is one major fruit of the Holy Spirit that compels the move of God. There’s no situation on earth that can bring man to fullness of joy. God is the source of joy and as such, every one seeking eternal fulfilment will require divine intervention. If God is not in your pursuit, victory is not in view. The closer you are with God, the better you become on the earth. All other avenues to joy devoid of God’s touch, will at best only earn you happiness. Happiness is common and is as a result of happenings. No material acquisition or physical attainment can produce joy. Whatsoever a man possesses can only bring happiness which is short-lived and has temporary effects.

Salvation without the joy of the Lord is frustration in disguise. You can’t enjoy God when you live this earthly life in sorrow. It’s required that we pray in this fruit of the spirit into our lives if we will harvest the best of God on the earth. The joy of the Lord brings strength and encouragement to the believer – Nehemiah 8:10. You can’t make tangible progress in life without a merry heart. “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22).

Don’t allow the situations of your life, marriage, business and education to weigh you down. You can only get better if you link up with the Holy Spirit to receive abundant joy.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10).

God is the only known source of abundant joy, blessings and miracles. Don’t be deceived, if God is not in your pursuit, success will never be in view. Get God and get peace and joy. Seek the Lord and be blessed of Him. In His presence is fullness of joy; at His right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” (Psalm 16:11). Don’t stay on the wrong side of earthly failure and defeat. Get into true fellowship with your Maker. Spend good time in worshipping Him, serve the Lord with gladness of heart and not by compulsion from men. Be built up through His word. If you will do these, your joy and miracles on earth will have no end.

Grant me access to the fullness of joy that comes from Your presence.

New Glory Devotional: STAND UP FOR JESUS – Sunday, October 7, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” (Jude 1:3).

Read: Acts 5:40-43

Christianity is a lifestyle and it shows wherever you go provided you are genuinely transformed and renewed by the precious blood of Jesus. The life you lead and the company you keep is a proof of who you are. You can’t be of Christ and not be different in this crooked and perverse generation.

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. ” (Matthew 5:14-15).

Light can never be hidden. It commands the respect of darkness and rules in all places. Light stands out. The believer in Christ is called the Light of the world because he is the ambassador of Christ on the earth and also a guide of the world out of obscurity to the knowledge and counsel of the Lord.

You can only proof the sincerity of your salvation through the life you lead. It will show if you are standing for Jesus. “Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. ” (Matthew 5:15). Why are you covering the grace upon your life? Why are you ashamed of being called a Christian among your friends, colleagues and before sinners? What are you advertising – God or worldliness? Who do you worship and respect – the Lord Jesus Christ or your boss who brings reproach to the name of God?

“And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.” (Acts 5:40-41).

This is the time to let your light shine so bright! This generation awaits your manifestation and as a child of God you are either making God happy or celebrating wickedness. If you truly carry the light of God you will do the work that brings salvation to all. This is the end of the age and Christ will soon return. What are you going to say before his throne concerning the life you have living.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10).

Are you truly for God or the world? Where do you belong brethren? Is it not becoming difficult daily to place you correctly? You are neither here or there! Can the world out there testify that you are truly a born again Christian? What is your next door neighbour saying about the faith you proclaim? Are you drawing more souls to heaven or your lifestyle, dressing, language, music and daily conduct is helping the devil to gain more followers? You need to rethink and be guided accordingly. The coming of Lord is near!

Father Lord, please help me on a daily basis to stand out from the crowd and to be a channel of salvation to this world of sin.

New Glory Devotional: BUILDING A GLORIOUS HOME – Saturday October 6, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:” (Proverbs 24:3).

Read: Proverbs 24:3-4

Your home is your primary place of abode and it forms the genesis of all your daily activities. It’s expected that you keep a home where love, joy and peace will reign. The presence of these three virtues will determine how much of God your home can accommodate. A peaceful home should be your desire. War and strife give no room for progress, development and success. It is therefore important that you seek wisdom to get the best of God for your home.

“The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.” (Proverbs 3:33).

Wisdom is a major prerequisite in building a home. If you will build to last, you need to consider the foundation you want to lay, carefully select the best material and seek counsel on how to make a success of the entire project. If you lack the required understanding, you are preparing for a crash in future except you seek God and ask Him to meet you at the point of your need.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5).

Every single brother and sister reading this devotional must not joke with the warnings of the Lord. You can only get a glorious home if you are not laying your foundation on wickedness. Who your partner is will determine how good or bad your future home will be. If your relationship is not built on the Word and the fear of the Lord, you are building a future in wickedness.

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:1)

If you choose a sinner friend for your future husband or wife, you can only expect the results of sin in your future home. What are some of these results? War, quarrel, unfaithfulness, lack of trust, selfishness, pains, etc. But if you, through the help of God and a good understanding of the counsel of the Lord about marriage, choose a godly man or woman, you can be sure that a glorious home awaits you. Remember, if the foundation is destroyed, how will you cope as a righteous person? You can only sow glorious seeds to reap a glorious future. If you fail to acknowledge the position of God in establishing a godly marriage, you will have the rest of your life to regret your unholy choices and actions.

Don’t wait to experience the pains that come from building on a wrong foundation. Your marriage won’t head towards a divorce or break up if you can build with God today. Consider your children and their future. You won’t like to see them grow wayward. Majority of the calamities in most nations of the world are caused by children from broken homes or those that lack proper parental care and love.

What is the present state of your home? Glorious or filled with pains and regret? At any level, the Lord can still help you. Take these things to God in prayer. Don’t harm yourself and don’t allow the devil deceive you by driving you further into error. God is your only solution and help in time of need. He will help you grow your home gloriously. It is well with you

Father, give me the wisdom and understanding required to build a glorious home. Don’t allow me to run in error in Jesus mighty name.

New Glory Devotional: THE POWER IN YOUR TONGUE 2 – Friday, October 5, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice.” [Eph. 4: 31]

Read: Eph. 4: 29-31

We shall continue today from yesterday’s message on the power in your tongue. It is evident from the text we read yesterday (James 3:1-12) that your tongue, though a little member of your body has enough power to direct your whole life. The rightful use of this member of your body will enhance productivity, progress and success, not only in your life but also in the lives of the people you come in contact with. As a bona fide child of God, it’s therefore expected that you get your words seasoned with grace such that you minister life and not death each time you communicate or respond to issues around you.

“Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man.” Colossians 4:6

You can lead a quiet and peaceable life if you will allow the Holy Spirit to tame your tongue.” But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” James 3:8. You need God to be able to speak the right words.  Your marriage can never be heaven on earth if you fail to learn how to turn the usage of your tongue around for good in all modesty and humility. Many homes are in shambles today because of mere exchange of words. Likewise many great relationships have hit the rocks because of the wrong use of words. A lady confessed to me how she missed the love of her life because she couldn’t control her manner of speech during discussions. You should know that what you say with your mouth can never be interpreted the same way by different listeners. Also, once you have spoken, you can never take back what you said. You must therefore be careful when releasing your words so that your intentions will not be misconstrued.

Beloved, it’s time you examine yourself. Do you speak the right words or use foul language? James 3:9-10 says: “Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.” You can desire a change today. You can develop the virtue of holy silence. Holy silence produces peace, reconciliation, forgiveness, etc. It doesn’t defend itself, argue, and seek the last word. Moreover it teaches you to bridle your tongue. You won’t need to talk all the time. Must you be known everywhere or speak on every issue? Jesus is the example in this regard. “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.” Isa. 53:7.

You can also take this issue of your tongue to God in prayers. David did pray: “Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.” Ps. 142:3. Until the door of your lips is kept from foul and annoying words, you may not enjoy the desired peace on the earth.  The word of the Lord says: “Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.” Eccl.5:2. The later part of  Eccl.5:3 reads: “a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.”

Make up your mind to speak the right words at all times. The word of God is the best word ever known. You are either speaking the mind of God or the counsel of the devil. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. Read more of the scriptures to get a good picture of what is expected of you per time. Don’t allow the word of the Lord to depart from your mouth, mediate on it day and night (Joshua 1:8). The more you dwell on His words the better you become as a Christian and with the help of the Holy Spirit, your tongue will begin to produce life and not death. Beloved, as you yield yourself continuously to God, you will forever be a blessing to the generations of the world. Don’t ever forget this: There’s Power in your Tongue.

Father, help me to yield every member of my body to the control of the Holy Spirit. I refuse to be a victim of the wrong usage of my tongue.

New Glory Devotional: THE POWER IN YOUR TONGUE 1 – Thursday, October 4, 2012

By Pastor Ayo Agbelusi

Memorise: “For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.” (James 3:2).

Read: James 3:1-12

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” (Proverbs 18:21).

Your tongue, though little, is a strong member of your body that you must not use carelessly. If you live carelessly with your tongue, you will in no time live a careless life on the earth. The tongue is a major control of the body. If your body is under total control, you can be sure a glorious life awaits you here on earth.

Many have been destroyed due to the misuse of their tongues. Idle words are dangerous. They have a direct negative impact on the life you live. You can’t make wrongful negative confessions about your situation and your life and expect positive results afterwards. What you think is what you’ll say and what you say has every right to stay. “Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:” (Numbers 14:28).

Your tongue is so powerful. It reveals your personality and depth. Your words are the yardstick by which your wisdom and your level of spiritually are measured. It’s better to remain silent than to bring yourself low due to the wrong use of words. Your tongue will not only build or destroy your life, it also has the same effect on the lives of the people you come in contact with. You can make a glorious destiny through the correct use of your tongue and you can also destroy an enviable destiny when you talk loosely about people and things you know nothing about. You are either building or destroying destinies by the way you use your tongue.

“Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.” (James 3:10).

We have seen many born again Christians of long-standing whose tongues yet defile. How can you confess Jesus genuinely and your words not prove you have been with the Lord. The fruits of the lips of so many Christians are worse than that of some unbelievers. Foul words, unholy jesting, crazy jokes, dirty language and even cursing are some fruits we see in out midst. But hear the word of the Lord to you concerning this: “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” (Ephesians 4:29).

What are you offering God and man from your lips? “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.” (Hebrews 13:15). Don’t deceive yourself, you know where you belong as far as the use of the tongue is concerned. If that member of your body is not under control, if God is not continually blessed and if the people around you cannot testify of the good words from your lips, then you need to check yourself and make all necessary adjustments.

Please help me to control my whole body and life through the right use of my tongue.
