New Glory Devotional: STOP WORRYING – Sunday, October 21, 2012

By Pastor Ayodeji Agbelusi

Memorise: “Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? ” (Matthew 6:27).

Read: Matthew 6:25-32

Beloved, you need to have faith in God to live a peaceful life on earth. The promises of God concerning your life are enough reasons for you to stay calm and patiently harvest all that God has in stock for you. Depression will never set in until you give yourself to endless worries about issues that God has perfected. God is not a joker. What he has spoken about you will surely come to pass if you will through faith and patience inherit His promises. Faith is the strongest weapon required for complete victory in the battles of life.

Worrying won’t help you, it will only lead your health to destinations untold and endless frustration. You are never alone. Learn to depend on God and cast all your cares on Him no matter how strong you may appear.

I read this in a message:
A peaceful mind can think better than a worked up mind. Allow a few minutes of silence to your mind every day, and see, how sharply it helps you to set your life the way you expect it to be.

Check out the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19:11-12

“And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.”.

God is a peaceful God. He’s not in the noise. If you’ll get HIM, you need to take off your mantle of worries, be quiet in your spirit and listen to His still small voice…. Small and tiny it may appear, but He’s speaking great things about your situation. All you need to do at a time like this is WAIT, STOP WORRYING BECAUSE. YOUR GOD CARES.

“I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.” (Psalm 40:1).

When you cry to God He wipes your tears but when you hold onto your worries, man, you may end up in mockery and disappointment. You don’t stay in the noise to make news! You need a quiet spirit to get the best of God. Instead of troubling your tender heart with fruitless worries and your eyes with tears, why not connect to the force of praise and get divine intervention in due time.

Beloved, when it seems like God is coming too late, He’s actually coming in a big way. Relax and trust Him for your desired miracle. Your expectations shall not be cut short.

Prayer:

Father, please take away my worries and change my present story for good. I need you to wipe my tears and make me stay strong. Thank you Jesus!!!
