APPLY: United Nations Association of Nigeria International Peace Day Symposium 2017

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. To further include young people, last year, the UN Security Council passed Resolution 2250 recognizing the role youth have to play in peace building and encouraging young governments to engage young people at all levels of peace building. Following the success of last our International Peace Day in partnership with UNIC, we hope to make this year even bigger and more impactful.

This year, the United Nations Association of Nigeria in partnership with the United Nations Information Center and University of Lagos, Akoka (Department of International Law and Jurisprudence) will host a symposium on the United Nations International Peace Day theme: “Together for Peace: Respect, Safety, and Dignity for All.”

MY RESPONSE TO LIFE.

In November 2010, I achieved certification in Life Coaching and followed it with another in Anger Management on October 8th, 2011. After this, I became certified in Emotional Intelligence in March 2012.

Ever since, I have worked with, through and for well more than 5,000 individuals (and in groups).

My work in several cities of Nigeria including Lagos, Abuja, Jos, Uyo, Taraba, Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kano, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Port Harcourt, Niger, just to mention a few, has groomed me to understand THE NIGERIAN VERSION to behaviours and conduct.

That is why when we resumed formal academy courses in March 2016, majority of our content and illustrations were LOCAL. We have created local materials for local applications.

BUT THERE WAS A CHALLENGE.

Why is GTBank organizing a Fashion Event, and Why Should I Attend?

The GTBank Fashion Weekend may seem novel for a financial institution, but it is part of the bank’s long history of supporting the local fashion industry.

Guaranty Trust Bank plc, last week announced the debut of the GTBank Fashion Weekend, set to hold on the 12th and 13th of November 2016, at the GTCentre, Oniru, Victoria Island. With the bank being the first financial institution to pioneer such initiative, it is important to understand its motive for organizing such an event and necessary to know what guests will gain from attending.

Why is GTBank Organizing a Fashion Weekend?

Perhaps the short answer is: To promote enterprise in the SME sector of the Fashion industry. The not-so-short answer would begin with the fact that GTBank actually has an extensive footprint in fashion that goes back several years. The bank has sponsored two of the country’s leading fashion events, The Arise Fashion Week and The Lagos Fashion and Design Week, for a combined period of five years. The bank has also contributed significantly to raising the international profile of African fashion through collaborations including the Ndani Installation at Selfridges and the “Double Club” Collaboration with PRADA.

The GTBank Fashion Weekend is thus an extension of the bank’s long tradition of supporting the local fashion industry and African fashion in general. However Read more

RCCG Nu Breed Digital BootCamp 2016 » 23rd – 29th October

Digital BootCamp is a workshop designed to equip the upcoming generation of youths (millennials) with the tools and techniques required to make them a major stakeholder in the emerging virtual world. As the world advances and gradually diffuses into a virtually real word, teenagers need to be informed about this reality, carried along and trained to become major stakeholders in the making of the emerging virtual world. It is our candid belief that teenagers in this part of the world should not just be consumers, but also makers and drivers of the trend. In this wise, the workshop will therefore engage intensive training in the dynamics of digitalization which will be interactive in orientation.

Mark Zuckerberg –

Last stop of my trip: I’m in Abuja to meet Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

We all met with entrepreneurs as part of Demo Day, an initiative for the Nigerian government to fund entrepreneurs with ideas for improving the country. We heard from engineers who are finding ways to reward people for recycling, designing ways to pick up trash easier, and using shuttles to improve commutes in Lagos.

This has been an inspiring trip. The energy and entrepreneurship in Nigeria and Kenya is amazing. I can’t wait to come back again soon!

Training: How to turn your passion to successful not for profit /NGO or ministry

Training WorkshopHello friend,

You care so much and have taken steps to reach out to your world. Either talking to girls in schools or at home, In church or elsewhere? You have gathered the women, sharing lessons with them or is it impacting entrepreneurial skills to the less privileged?

Your passion maybe some other interventions too, or can be abused girls and women who need to find succour and healing from your idea or initiative? End of story, you just want to give back! You are just burning with so much passion to touch the world and make it a better place. You are just crying out deep in your heart to contribute to making lives better and productive.

If this is you, or better still you have started and somehow finding yourself lost in the whole thing? Maybe it’s just that inside you, is a yearning to do more for your community, nation? Or rather God spoke to you, maybe you perceive there is a mission you have to meet out there? Or you have started? You need not get broke, frustrated, confused, overwhelmed… to do this… Whatever the hunger, whatever the challenges?

This training workshop is for you.

Dr. PrincessKayTM started out 16 years ago with Media Concern Initiative for Women and Children from her sitting room. It has pioneered and blazed many trails. She successfully built this organisation from scratch to attracting both international donors and local support and generated global impact with recognition, received international and local awards from doing this work. Now she wants to show you how you can do that as well, get better results and more.

What will you learn? Read more
